See below for what our wonderful members, old and new, have to say about Leamington Spa Speakers Club.

Around 5 years ago, I was embarking a new career at a young start-up company in the tech sector.
Preparing for this scenario, I heard about a radio host that overcame their fear of presenting by attending their local speaking club. A quick google later, and I ended up as a walk-in guest at Leamington Spa Speakers Club.

Take it from me, and the members of this friendly club - that coming to a welcoming environment, where we learn every week from experienced speakers, really helped me professionally, and socially too.

What I learnt here in just a few months were the foundations of many tips, tricks & techniques
that provided me with a confidence advantage over my colleagues.

My life has been transformed by venturing into a speaker’s club meeting some 12 years ago. I have new mates new skills more confidence as a speaker evaluator and as National President my leadership skills got a thorough workout. It’s a must and should never be a maybe. It’s life enhancing and transforming.
— Catherine Williamson

Speakers Club is not just about standing at the front and talking to a group of people. Its about learning how to deliver an effective message whatever the situation, maybe at interview, a presentation or training session. Perhaps you have been asked to deliver a best man’s speech or a eulogy at a friend or family funeral. You never know when you are going to need those tips and techniques along with the confidence to deliver a killer message.
Speakers Club is giving me the help to step up in any situation and effective communications whist still keeping my own style.
— Steve Atherton

As well as being fun, friendly and informative, Leamington Speakers’ Club has offered me a ‘safe space’ to cultivate my own speaking skills. I say ‘my own’ in a considered way. We all know the axiom, “Those who can, do and those who can’t, teach”. When you teach public speaking, it’s essential to create opportunities to carry on practising your own art. Public speaking is a dynamic activity and you can never say that you’ve ‘mastered’ it. Speakers’ Club enables you to grow and develop as a speaker, whatever your level and ability, in a non-judgemental and nurturing environment.
— Carrie Terry

Before I joined Speakers’ Club I thought that I wasn’t disastrous at public speaking; I got by. I had no idea how much I could learn and improve by listening to others and working my way through the 10 assignments over a couple of years.
There has never been a time when I have not enjoyed our fortnightly meetings - terrific entertainment!
